New York, NY (Nov 4, 2016) – The New York Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI NY) today announced that a group of new members and chapter leaders will ring the opening bell of the Nasdaq market on Monday, November 7th at 9:30 am. The Chapter will be celebrating the success of its new member campaign over the past year, following a new member breakfast earlier that day (and it’s not too late to join NIRI NY to participate!).

Founded in 1970, NIRI NY is a vibrant and active chapter with the nation’s largest regional membership. NIRI NY encourages members of the region’s IR community to take advantage of the vast resources that the chapter has to offer including programming, networking and professional development.
Last year NIRI NY partnered with the national NIRI organization to boost its proactive membership program, including expansive outreach, fresh programs and topical events designed to benefit current members and stimulate new membership across the metropolitan New York investor relations community.
As part of this effort, under Deb Wasser, IRC and Suzanne Shepherd who lead membership, the chapter launched NIRI NY NextGen to attract up and coming IR professionals who have joined the profession in the past five years. Combining the shared experiences of seasoned investor relations professionals with those building or broadening their skill sets provides an engaging and unique opportunity for all members to advance their practice.
Solid Membership Growth Achieved
Since launching the campaign last year, NIRI NY membership has risen 20%, including the formation of NIRI NY NextGen. The chapter’s enhanced communications strategy has also contributed to the chapter’s growth and visibility. Efforts include the launch of a new website and the NIRI NY App (Apple App Store or Google Play); the production of NIRI NY Headliners, a video interview series featuring insights from IR community leaders, and active engagement on social media channels such as LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube.
