NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The New York chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI NY) held its virtual annual meeting on Tuesday, June 16, at which it announced the newly elected chapter directors and officers for the 2020-2021 term and shared the highlights of the 2019-2020 season.
NIRI NY welcomed newly elected members Nichole Saland, Managing Director & Head of Corporate Access, Telsey Advisory Group, and Abbe F. Goldstein, Senior Vice President, Investor Relations, Travelers. They will join 12 returning directors in providing a vision and setting the agenda for NIRI NY. The board of directors named Neil Stewart, Director of Corporate Outreach for the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, President of NIRI for the 2020-2021 season.
“I am delighted to announce NIRI NY’s new and continuing Board leadership which is committed to advancing the investor relations profession during our upcoming season. This past year, we brought over 600 attendees together to explore the evolving priorities of stakeholders, sustainability initiatives and communications strategies to deliver value through investor relations. While COVID-19 altered the way in which we traditionally connect with our members, our creative and dedicated board quickly adapted our outreach and continued to serve our community during this time,” said Alexandra Deignan, outgoing NIRI NY Board President. “Neil is a proven leader and will build on our strong foundation as our New York Chapter President. Over the past three years, Neil has been instrumental in executing the chapter’s strategy while contributing fresh ideas to the Programs, Communications and NextGen committees.”
Newly elected NIRI NY Board President, Stewart commented, “I am honored to lead the NIRI NY board in its mission to provide valuable programming and networking opportunities for our 300 members. This year’s board includes accomplished IR professionals with diverse areas of expertise to serve our New York chapter and I look forward to working with this team throughout the 2020–2021 season. We would also like to thank outgoing board members Katie Royce and Deb Wasser for their many years of service to the chapter and look forward to the contributions they will no doubt make as members of the NIRI National board of directors.”
The 14-person NIRI NY volunteer board is responsible for developing informative programs, establishing sponsorships and managing resources to host professional and social networking events.
