NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The New York Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI NY) announced today that it will host “Managing and Leading Through Change,” a half-day leadership event for investor relations professionals on Tuesday, May 10th in New York City (agenda below).
The event will provide an in-depth discussion of the strategic role that investor relations officers play in successfully leading their teams and organizations through the challenges posed by merger and acquisition activity, shareholder activism, and C-Suite transitions.
NIRI NY Chapter President, Theresa Molloy, commented, “Managing and Leading Through Change is a must attend event that brings together current issues that are impacting today’s IR practitioners - with unmatched networking among industry peers. Our Board is very grateful to EY for hosting and thankful to a truly star-studded roster of IRO’s who have agreed to share their time and experience in dealing with some of the most challenging aspects of the IR role. This is our second annual leadership event which follows the hugely successful leadership event ‘IR Leadership: Managing Trust, Integrity and Credibility’ held last year.”
Managing and Leading Through Change will feature discussions from a range of IR community leaders from Fortune 500 companies who will speak about the opportunities, successes and struggles they faced while managing through significant corporate transactions. An overview of the program is available here.
Keynote speaker Edward H. Braun, former Chairman and CEO of Veeco Instruments Inc., will provide insights from his decades of experience navigating business and technology cycles and major corporate transitions, including dozens of acquisitions, divestitures, and “C-suite” leadership changes.
Christopher Hannegan, EVP, U.S. Practice Chair, Employee Engagement at Edelman, will discuss the importance of collaboration during times of transition while providing specific examples of successful strategies.
Sheri Diller of TalentSmart will finish out the event with a luncheon discussion of the value of emotional intelligence in the IR process, both for the individual and the business. She will discuss how participants can improve their own Emotional Quotient (EQ), and those in the audience will receive a complimentary copy of Emotional Intelligence 2.0, including a free Emotional Intelligence Appraisal.
