They will discuss the influx of new companies actively chasing experienced IROs and creating a supply/demand imbalance, how to prepare for the search process, review best practice for a job search and how to close the interview.
Learning Objectives: At the end of today's program, participants will be able to:
• Better manage the complexity of the hiring process and the competitiveness needed to win the job in today's IRO hiring market.
• Identify skills and competencies that IROs should be proficient at, or at least aware of, that can help them advance in their current organization or differentiate themselves in the job market.

A seasoned communications recruiter with both US and European experience, Mr. McDermott has an impressive international track record placing senior-level corporate communications, corporate affairs, and investor relations talent, across a wide spectrum of clients.
Mr. McDermott joined Korn Ferry from a boutique firm specialized in the corporate affairs function, where he held leadership positions in both their London and New York offices. Mr. McDermott also spent time in the APAC region doing both candidate and business development.
Jeff Goeser

Jeff Goeser is currently the Executive Vice President of Finance at Orion Advisor Solutions, responsible for every area within finance except accounting and tax. He has nearly 30 years of professional experience, including 25 years within public companies, primarily focused on FP&A and IR.
Prior to joining Orion in March 2021, Jeff was most recently the Head of IR at TD Ameritrade, a large cap stock. After 28 years of steady career progression, he was severed in late 2020 because of his company being acquired and found himself unemployed for the first time in his career.
Deborah Stapleton

Deborah founded Stapleton Communications in 1992 and has handled IR mostly in the tech sector, with a couple of notable exceptions: worked with Amazon.com on its IPO and for 4 years thereafter; and Pixar Animation Studios starting a year before the IPO and handling all IR and PR until Pixar's acquisition by Disney.
Note: Steve Jobs was NOT her most difficult client. She grew her firm to 35 people at its peak, and participated and advised in more than 30 IPOs. Is now looking for a senior in-house position.
